| Change..its a big part of life. This last week was probably the most
changing week of my life. I've been on a spiritual high all week and
I've loved every minute of it. I just got back from Service
Partnership at
Heartland church camp. We were paired with mentally handicapped people
for a week. There were people who had anything from blindness to mental
retardation to downsyndrome. And let me tell you those people were
amazing. I’ve never met more giving people. At the beginning of the
week I was excited just to come and give these special campers an
amazing time at camp and to be with God. But I realize now why God
called me to camp this week-it wasn't just to teach those campers. I’m
sure we taught those campers so much, with bible study in the morning
and vespers at night, but more importantly is what they taught me. God
showed me how much those special people have to offer..if we’d only
take the time to listen. I feel so incredibly blessed to be who I am.
Know knowing what they all have to live with every single day of their
life-when just dressing is a chore- I feel like my big problems aren't
so incredibly big anymore. Those campers opened my heart and taught me
more about life than anyone I know. When Jenny, one of my special
campers, spent her whole 2 hours of craft time just to make a jewelry
box for me..I couldn’t help but smile. They all seem to have so little
until you look into their hearts.. and they give so much. When Scotty,
my favorite special camper ever, danced in the talent show and picked
me to sing to, out of the whole crowd of people....I knew I’d never
ever forget the look of pure happiness that he gave me, or the feeling
I had knowing that I could make someone so incredibly happy just by
being there. The smile on all their faces when they were given a big
hug was worth a thousand words. It was so fufilling. God really knew
what he was doing last week and I couldn’t have asked for a better
time. I have so much more to say and lots of amazing pictures! I'll
have to put them on when I see Lauren next...
I think I've grown so incredibly much this week and I can't wait to go
back next year...I know we gave those campers more then we can imagine.
And I thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve Him in such an
amazing way.
" And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who
love him, who have been called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28

| wow I just figured out that I only have 18 more free days of summer...that makes me sad...
oh yah on a happier note though I found out the amazing "Fem 4" got a
trophy at M.A.M.A...so that was really awesome! I think that's pretty
great for having practiced together a whole 2 times..

| So yesterday was the best day ever... Lauren, Giles, John, and I
went to Worlds of Fun...and of course it was pouring rain the entire
day..We were soaked the whole day..but that just made it even more
memorable. The mamba was interesting in the pouring rain..75mph in the
rain is kinda painful..but I give props to John for riding it w/me.. :)
It was cold..and I was of course in a white tank top and freezing
my butt off..but it was so much fun. Later we went to lauren's and
watched Panic Room...which wasn't too bad. And then John and I watched
another movie at my house..man I wish everyday could be so amazing...
I miss everyone so much! I can't wait to see everyone in
August...though that would mean its almost time for school to begin and
I am definately not ready for that
I finished Harry Potter!..it was pretty awesome

| So band was pretty much incredibly horrible today...I love spending 5
hours out in the missouri heat while carrying a huge horn with one
water break every hour. Its great...and now I look like a cherry
b/c I forgot sunscreen again.
Besides band there's not much going on right now except sleeping, and
of course talking to John!... and Lauren and Courtney and everyone
else. Saturday's MAMA and the..."Fem 4" is going to be AMAZING!....
